A tropical storm warning has been issued for a part of the Florida Gulf Coast ahead of Tropical Storm Fred's expected landfall early this week.
The tropical storm warning extends along the Florida Panhandle from Navarre to the Wakulla/Jefferson County line. This means tropical storm conditions (39+ mph winds) are expected in the warning area beginning Monday.
A tropical storm watch remains in effect in the Florida Panhandle from the border between Alabama and Florida to Navarre.
Stronger wind gusts in Fred could trigger scattered power outages near the Gulf Coast where it moves inland. Some downed trees or broken tree limbs cannot be ruled out as well.
