Tropical Storm Elsa has made landfall in Cuba, and will next target parts of Florida and the Southeast.
Elsa's center made landfall around 2 p.m. EDT Monday in Matanzas Province in the Ciénaga de Zapata National Park, about 80 miles southeast of Havana along the Caribbean coast of southwest Cuba.
Elsa's maximum sustained winds at the time were 60 mph.
Hurricane warnings previously in effect along the south coast of Cuba were dropped earlier Monday morning.
