Hurricane Paulette Strikes Bermuda With Strong Winds and Heavy Rain

Hurricane Paulette made a direct strike on Bermuda early Monday morning, where it brought strong winds and heavy rainfall. Paulette will also stir up waves and rip currents on the U.S. East Coast.

Paulette's eye moved directly over Bermuda about 5 a.m. on Monday, local time. Bermuda's L.F. Wade International Airport clocked a wind gust to 88 mph as the northern eyewall of Paulette moved through.

Increased wave activity and a threat of rip currents are expected on parts of the U.S. East Coast. These swells have already arrived in some areas and will continue into the first half of this week.
