Hurricane Delta to Strike Cancún Into Wednesday, Then a U.S. Gulf Coast Danger Begins Friday Night

Delta topped out as a Category 4 hurricane in the western Caribbean Sea Tuesday.Delta may be the strongest hurricane to strike Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula in at least 15 years.Delta will then strike the northern U.S. Gulf Coast beginning late Friday.Delta is still expected be a formidable and larger hurricane at landfall along the Gulf Coast.Storm surge, destructive winds and flooding rain are all expected. Interests from the upper Texas coast and Louisiana to Alabama should monitor the progress of this system closely.

Hurricane Delta is closing in on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, including Cancún and Cozumel, and thereafter is a significant danger to the U.S. Gulf Coast beginning later Friday.
