Barbuda Struggles with Painfully Slow Recovery from Hurricane Irma

The island of Barbuda is going through a painfully slow recovery, more than six months after Hurricane Irma cut its destructive path across the Atlantic. Only one-third of Barbuda’s population has returned after the entire island was evacuated to its sister island Antigua. With another hurricane season starting in June, organizations like the UNDP are working around the clock to speed up the rebuilding and recovery process.
