A foot or more of snow was reported in parts of Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota. Mason City, Iowa, saw 17.5 inches of snow while 14 inches piled up in Emmons, Minnesota. Additional snowfall totals can be found toward the bottom of this article.

Indianapolis measured10.2 inches of snow on March 24, making it the heaviest calendar-day snowfall , when11.4inches accumulated. Uma's snowwas also a record snowfall for the date and the for the month of March.

Near-blizzard conditions werereported in Woodford and northern Peoria counties in Illinois on March 24. There were also numerous reports of thundersnow, including in Plainfield, Iowa, Dickinson County, Iowa, and .

Police in Davenport, Iowa,responded to more than 25 March 24 as heavy snow slickenedroadways across the Quad Cities.

There was a sharp gradient of snowfall totals across the Midwest. In northern Illinois, accumulations ranged from a foot to nothingacross a distance of just 28 miles.

The Appalachians saw snowfall totals topping a foot in parts of West Virginia and southwestern Virginia.
