There may still be a couple of months left in 2016, but it doesn't hurt to plan ahead and start making travel plans for 2017. And travel publisher has made planning your vacation even easier with its recently released list of the Best Destinations to visit in the next year.
Where should you go? The USA's neighbor to the north topped the list for Best Countries to Visit in 2017. Lonely Planetcites Canada's 150th anniversary, its cities' livability rankings and a low Canadian dollar as some of the reasons why international travellers might want to visit next year.

"Canada is always popular with us," Alex Howard, Canada's destination editor said on a press release. "But there's so much happening in 2017 that made it number one. It's the country's biggest birthday party in recent memory with the sesquicentennial next year, and they won't be shy about celebrating. Now is the time to start planning a trip."
Other countries that made Lonely Planet's list include Colombia, which the publisher cites for its "mix of vibrant culture, nature and hospitality," and Finland, which will host to the World Figure Skating Championships and the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2017.
