From stunning blue waters and white sandy beaches, to the mountains of the Kimberley region, photographer Jordan Cantelo, 31, has spent the last five years photographing the landscapes of western Australia.
“Western Australia is so massive that we have a seemingly endless amount of things to showcase to the world,” Cantelo told weather.com. “I’m very lucky to have grown up around here and now, I get to photograph it and share it with everyone.”
He added, “I hope viewers of my images are transported to the location that I have captured, to experience what I have experienced, and go ‘Wow, I want to go and visit’ or [think] ‘I wonder what it must have been to have been there at that time.’”

Cantelo works in fire management as his day job, but he said he tries to get out to shoot photos as often as he can and much of his photography is dictated by the weather.
“The weather conditions at a location play a huge part in my photographic pursuit. [Even] when I am not specifically photographing the weather, it still plays a big part in my composition,” he explained. “When it comes to landscape photography, to me, the current weather conditions have to play a major part in your work [as] the sky usually makes up one or two thirds of your image.” As a result, many of Cantelo’s images feature cloudy skies or other phenomena, such as rainbows, fog or even lightning.
