Thirteen years ago, photographer and travel designer Michael Poliza began “goofing around” with his camera while on safari in Cape Town, South Africa. Since then Poliza has managed to acquire a unique collection of aerial wildlife imagery.
We often hear that “nature always wins,” but Poliza does his best to work with what nature will offer him. “I can’t choreograph my photographs as much as photographers normally could,” he said. “I’m very much dependent upon what nature gives to me.”
This means that he is always looking out for any and all situations that can help create a stunning photograph. “I have to wait for those graphical moments, it’s very much the patience game,” he said.
His time photographing wildlife has made him somewhat of an expert on understanding animal behavior. With that knowledge and a few helicopter and airplane rides across several African nations, such as Kenya, Botswana and Namibia, Poliza has captured some stunning shots that feature beautiful textures, structures and animal life.
