A thundering waterfall crashing several hundred feet down to Earth is an impressive sight on its own, but add a rainbow into the mix and the watery wonder is elevated to awe-inspiring (and Instagram-worthy) status.
Civil engineer Tapas Chattopadhyay was at the right place at the right time and captured that spectacular moment a rainbow emerged out of a waterfall in Karnataka, India.
Chattopadhyay, who was enjoying the view from the top of the waterfall, one of India's largest waterfalls, trekked all the way down to see the rainbow in all its glory. The 43-year-old descended all 830 feet of the waterfall—and unsurprisingly got soaked as he neared the spectrum.

"It was really tough, and the path was extremely slippery, but I was determined,"Chattopadhyay told Caters News Agency. "I was so wet but I just kept thinking how impressive the giant natural beauty would look when I made it."
The trek and soaking was worth it for Chattopadhyay, who was had to leave his wife at the top of the viewpoint to reach the bottom of the waterfall, but was able to capture stunning images of a unique phenomenon.
"It was an awesome experience and truly these images are close to my heart," he said.
