Nana, a two-year-old Shiba Inu, receives a lot of attention from people when she’s out with her human Christine Gasmann. “Oh, she looks like that dog in that sad movie! You know which movie I mean?” They’re referring to “Hachi: A Dog’s Tale,” even though Hachi is actually an Akita Inu breed.
“[People] don’t understand a thing when I say [that] she’s a Shiba Inu,” Gasmann, a child care and youth worker from Larvik, Norway, told weather.com. Gasmann began an Instagram account dedicated to her furry friend in 2014, because Nana would have eventually taken over Gasmann’s personal account anyway.
The duo has gained considerable fame on , acquiring more than 13,000 followers. Many of the photos show Nana outdoors, enjoying the weather.
“Nana’s favorite season has to be winter,” Gasmann said. “When the first snowfall came the first year I had her, she was having the time of her life. She just loves jumping around the snow!” The contrast between snow and Nana’s ochre-colored fur also makes for a stunning photograph.
Nana’s beauty inspired Gasmann to focus on her photography of her dog. “When I decided on getting such a beautiful breed, I had to start taking pictures of her,” she said. “Also it would help me improve on my photography skills.”
“I just love to photograph her during winter, and at least during a snowfall,” she said. “It’s just so pretty.”
Gasmann and Nana are planning to go on a road trip through Norway this summer. “I am looking so much forward to it,” she said. “I love being a tourist in my own country.”
