One of the country's most amazing natural wonders is the Canon del Sumidero, a geological fault formed millions of years ago featuring 900 feet high canyon walls, colorful caves and jaw-dropping waterfalls. Mexico is full of impressive ruins and ancient monuments that have stood for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. One such ancient site isChichén Itzá, one of the greatest ruins in theYucatán peninsula and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nearly 1,000 years old, the site is home to stone monuments and artistic works, including the Warriors' Temple, el Caracol and the site's center piece, El Castillo. This impressive step pyramid temple has 365 steps, one for each day of the year.
