Iceland may be known for its , but it is also a country dotted with stunning waterfalls. Gullfoss is perhaps its most known waterfall, and one of the country's most visited attractions, but it's also hidden from view, so that it just appears that a mighty river disappears into the earth. A closer look, however, will reveal the wonder's impressive cascade.

However, another waterfall in Iceland is more secretive.Gljúfrafoss (or Gljúfrabúi) is a smaller waterfall, partially obscured by the cliff rock. Visitors and sightseers need to follow a winding trail and climb a wooden ladder roughly halfway up to view the falls.

A ladder has been installed for visitors and swimmers to climb the 98 feet down to the hole, which travelers say is one of the most beautiful swimming spots in the world.
